Worship & Liturgy Ministries

Liturgy Committee
The mission of the Liturgy Committee is to promote full, conscious, active participation of all the faithful in the worship life of the parish. This committee, made up of parishioners and staff, is responsible for overall preparation (including art and environment) of major liturgical seasons and celebrations. The Liturgy Committee normally meets 3 to 4 times per year, with additional meetings as deemed necessary.

Baptism Preparation Program
This team of clergy and parishioners facilitates the Baptism Preparation Classes for those who are preparing for the baptism of their babies or children under the age of seven. The class generally meets once a month for an hour. The classes consist of a video presentation and group discussion. Contact the parish office is you are interested in being a facilitator.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Provides monthly opportunities for children between the ages of 4 and 12 years of age to participate in their own Liturgy of Word within the context of the Sunday 10:00 Mass from September to June. During the 10:00 Mass children and trained adult leaders are dismissed to the Gathering Space. Children listen and respond to the same Scripture readings as the worshipping community in the church. The Lectionary used is an approved Children’s Lectionary. The Adult Leader guides the children through the same Liturgy of the Word format but with an interactive reflection (homily) and a chance to contribute intentions during the Prayer of the Faithful.
